Il n’est plus cette force tranquille qu’il incarnait dans les buts de Chelsea. Une continuité dans ses mauvaises performances

Avec le Sénégal, c’est la deuxième fois que Mendy prend deux buts après 26 sélections. C’est également sa quatrième défaite quand il est dans les cages des Lions. Mendy a connu son premier revers face à l’Algérie, lors du premier match des Lions à la Can 2019 (1-0). Ensuite, il était sur 14 sorties sans s’incliner avant de tomber face à l’Egypte à nouveau, le 25 mars au Caire en barrages aller du Mondial (1-0).
