CHRONIQUE DE SIDI
A la suite du prophète Souleyman (PSL) dont la vie et l’œuvre continuent d’inspirer de nombreuses bonnes actions, nous allons, dans ce présent chapitre, vous parler d’un autre Messager du Seigneur : Le Prophète Ayoub (PSL). Celui que le Coran surnomme « Sadikh » nous enseigne foi, persévérance et patience.
Le Prophète Ayoub est de la descendance du Prophète Ibrahim, comme il est indiqué dans le Coran (Sourate 6 verset 84). Comme beaucoup de ses ancêtres, Ayoub a été fortement mis à l’épreuve par Dieu qui avait commencé par le combler d’immenses privilèges. Il avait tout ce dont un homme avait besoin pour vivre heureux. : Sa richesse était importante, ses terres immenses, ses troupeaux étendus. Voulant l’éprouver, Allah lui prit tout cela. Son argent disparut, ses terres lui échappèrent, ses enfants périrent, son bétail mourut. Ce n’était pas tout. Dieu le mis davantage à l’épreuve avec une maladie qui l’affaiblit fortement. Ayoub devint invalide, incapable même de bouger. Ses amis lui tournèrent le dos arguant que sa maladie était contagieuse. Seuls sa femme et deux de ses amis acceptèrent de l’accompagner dans la douleur. Mais Ayoub accepta tout cela avec honneur. A aucun moment il ne se plaignit de sa condition qu’il prit comme une volonté de Dieu à laquelle nul ne peut se dérober. Il ne sollicita personne. Et dans la misère la plus totale, il continuait à prier et à glorifier le Tout-Puissant. Le Prophète Ayoub (PSL) comprenait même qu’un virus puisse habiter son corps pour pouvoir se nourrir et vivre. Plus les gens avaient pitié de lui, plus Ayoub se rapprochait de son Seigneur. De nombreuses années durant Ayoub vécut dans ces conditions. Son épouse qui était à son chevet, montra des signes d’impatience et l’exhorta à implorer Dieu pour reprendre sa vie d’antan et se départir de son mal. Ayoub lui rétorqua que Dieu les avait couverts de ses faveurs et qu’il est donc tout à fait normal d’endurer tout autant. Son épouse ne lâchant pas prise insista. Acculé et excédé, Ayoub lui promit cent coups s’il se remettrait de sa maladie. Pour certains exégètes, ces cents coups qu’Ayoub promit à son épouse ont inspiré le droit pénal musulman avec la peine des cents coups de fouets, même si Ayoub ne donna jamais à son épouse la correction dont il l’a menacée.
Le prophète Ayoub (PSL) souffrait en silence, refusant de se plaindre auprès du Seigneur. Un jour, son épouse qui, malgré ses instances ne parvenait pas à le convaincre, dû couper ses cheveux qu’elle vendit pour pouvoir se nourrir. Affecté par cela, le prophète Ayoub se résolut à invoquer Allah. «Et Ayoub, quand il implora son Seigneur: «Le mal m’a touché. Mais Toi, tu es le plus miséricordieux des miséricordieux» (Sourate 21 verset 83). La réponse du Tout-puissant ne tarda pas. Il lui commanda de frapper la terre avec ses pieds pour faire jaillir une source qui au contact de son corps rendit à Ayoub toute santé. « Et rappelle-toi Ayoub, Notre serviteur, lorsqu’il appela son Seigneur: «Le Diable m’a infligé détresse et souffrance». Frappe [la terre] de ton pied: voici une eau fraîche pour te laver et voici de quoi boire. Et Nous lui rendîmes sa famille et la fîmes deux fois plus nombreuse, comme une miséricorde de Notre part et comme un rappel pour les gens doués d’intelligence ». Allah lui rendit tout ce qu’il lui avait pris. Santé, richesse, amis et enfants. De sa souffrance naquit la félicité. Le Seigneur lui commanda, afin de respecter son serment, de rassembler cent brindilles qu’il attacha pour donner à son épouse les cents coups en une fois. (Sourate 38 versets 42, 43 et 44).
Ayoub est aussi le prophète à qui Dieu a rendu hommage pour sa foi inébranlable, son courage et son endurance. « Oui, Nous l’avons trouvé vraiment endurant. Quel bon serviteur! Sans cesse il se repentait » (Sourate 38 verset 44).
