Et jusque-là, il n’a reçu que des doses d’AstraZeneca un vaccin suspendu au Danemark, en Norvège, au Pays-Bas, en Allemagne, en Italie, en Espagne, au Portugal. En France, la Haute autorité de santé (HAS) a « recommandé à ce stade de n’utiliser le vaccin AstraZeneca que pour les personnes âgées de 55 ans et plus ». Si ces pays semblent éloignés, en République démocratique du Congo (RDC), c’est le président Félix Tshisekedi qui a déclaré le vaccin AstraZeneca « pas si sûr ». L’autre vaccin (Johnson & Johnson), dont Abdoulaye DIOUF SARR a annoncé la réception de 136.800 doses, est aussi suspendu dans beaucoup de pays dont celui qui l’a conçu.
