La victoire du Sénégal à la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations de football a été une belle occasion pour le président de la République du Sénégal de communiquer. Sorti des élections locales où certains de ses candidats ont été laminés, le chef de l’Etat Macky Sall n’a pas raté cette occasion pour se refaire une image et se montrer proche des populations. La petite vidéo amateur du Président Sall qui n’arrive pas à se retenir devant le téléviseur, renvoie l’image d’un Sénégalais ordinaire, qui souhaite vivement que son équipe gagne. Le fait d’écourter son périple à l’extérieur pour accueillir les Lions de la Téranga, d’une part et toute la médiatisation qui s’en est suivie d’autre part, ont été de grands moments de communication politique.
Inviter l’Opposition à se joindre à lui pour souhaiter la bienvenue aux champions a été une bonne décision. Ceux qui ont répondu présents à cet appel ont été très politiques. La remise des distinctions et les discours qui l’ont précédée ont été également de grands moments de communication politique en faveur du président de la République du Sénégal. C’est dire que cette Coupe, la première dans l’histoire du Sénégal, a été une bonne occasion pour Macky Sall et ses amis de communiquer.
Les limites ?
L’équipe gouvernementale et les hommes des médias auraient pu et dû, expliquer davantage à la jeunesse sénégalaise, que le Sénégal de demain ne se fera pas qu’avec le sport. Si le sport a réussi à fédérer les cœurs, les autorités se doivent d’inviter les jeunes à aller conquérir le savoir pour pouvoir répondre aux exigences du temps et de l’avenir.
Cette Coupe et son corolaire de joie doivent servir de prétexte pour communiquer autour de la paix, de la stabilité et de la beauté du Sénégal pour relancer le tourisme, entre autres.
