Le chef de l’Etat, Macky Sall, a annoncé dimanche avoir décidé d’allouer une prime spéciale de 10 millions de francs CFA et un terrain de 500 mètres carrés dans la région de Dakar à chacun des membres des équipes nationales de football local et de beach soccer et leur encadrement.
»J’ai décidé de vous allouer, ainsi qu’à chacun des membres des délégations du CHAN et de la CAN du beach soccer, une prime de 10 millions de FCFA, ainsi qu’un terrain de 500 mètres carrés dans la région de Dakar », a-t-il dit.
Le président Sall recevait les Lions du football local et ceux du beach soccer, dimanche dans la soirée, après la victoire des premiers, samedi, à l’issue de l’édition 2022 du Championnat d’Afrique des nations (CHAN).
Les Lions locaux ont remporté le trophée du CHAN en venant à bout de l’Algérie, le pays organisateur, à l’issue de la série des tirs au but, 5-4.
A l’issue du temps réglementaire et des prolongations, les deux équipes étaient à égalité, 0-0.
Les Lions de beach soccer, pour leur part, avaient remporté leur septième trophée en octobre dernier.
Pour le président Sall, avec leur victoire au CHAN, les Lions du football local offrent »le meilleur cadeau d’anniversaire » au Sénégal, ce lundi coïncidant avec l’anniversaire du premier sacre du pays à la Coupe d’Afrique des nations (CAN).
»Mieux encore, alors que vous étiez considérés comme des outsiders après 11 années d’absence de notre pays en CHAN, vous avez déjoué tous les pronostics, prouvant par là qu’avec la force et la détermination du lion, il n’y a pas de pronostic qui vaille. Tout peut s’arracher, jusqu’à la victoire finale », s’est félicité Macky Sall.
S’agissant du beach soccer, le chef de l’Etat a par ailleurs salué « le brillant parcours » de ses membres qui ont, dit-il, « tracé le chemin et suscité de nouvelles vocations en ouvrant la voie à de jeunes générations qui auront la lourde tâche de marcher [dans les pas de leurs aînés] pour maintenir le standing de notre pays dans le cercle restreint des meilleures nations du football de plage ».
