La gynécologie et l’obstétrique constituent des disciplines sociétales. Parfois économique car moment de retour sur investissement en « ndaawtal ». Enjeu humain aussi, le besoin de progéniture étant juste légitime. Ainsi face à tous ces enjeux, la jeune mariée est soumise à l’injuste obligation (nulle part écrite mais partout pensée et censée sue) de s’inscrire en maternité dans les plus brefs. Le temps lui est compté. Et tout retard ouvre les « hostilités ». En général d’abord insinuantes (« garouwalé »), indirectes avant de céder la place aux attaques verbales directes et frontales. Climat de malaise conjugal mais surtout de mal-être psychologique et mental d’une pauvre femme, condamnée à devoir accepter d’être à l’origine (souvent même à tort) d’une situation qui est avant tout un problème de couple. Enfanter. Ne jamais vomir est mal vu ou plutôt rester trop longtemps sans exprimer ces petits signes que l’entourage guette à savoir vomissements intempestifs, somnolence excessive et attrait brusque au « maad ». Dans les cas où c’est la belle-mère qui dresse l’agenda du couple, c’est elle-même qui organise et accompagne (pour ne pas dire amener) aux consultations auprès d’une amie sage-femme ou d’une recommandation chez un gynécologue sans jamais oublier le tradipraticien du coin. On perd de vue (ou fait semblant) que la grossesse c’est la patience dans le non stress. Ici, la pression est tellement forte que la femme vit un calvaire bâti sur un stress permanent. Ainsi chaque survenue des règles constitue pour elle un véritable moment de désespoir et de cauchemar, d’autant plus grand en l’absence du soutien marital. Commence alors une véritable pathologie, la grossesse nerveuse.
LA GROSSESSE NERVEUSE :
De façon caricaturale, la grossesse nerveuse est une « grossesse dans la tête », pas dans le ventre. Autrement dit, sous l’effet de la pression, la femme a tellement peur de ne pas tomber enceinte qu’elle va forcer une grossesse. Elle va développer des signes subjectifs comme des nausées vomissements, une hypersomnolence, une boulimie en « maad » ou produits épicés… et déclare sentir quelque chose bouger dans son ventre. Les règles ne sont plus les bienvenues. Si par malheur elles surviennent, elle ne va les considérer comme telles. Elles ne les appelera pas « règles », mais parlera plutôt de « saignements » ou « avortements » (répétés chaque mois). La consultation gynécologique, si elle a lieu, ruine tout espoir avec très souvent des conclusions sèches en genre « utérus vide, absence de grossesse » sans trop s’attarder sur la psychothérapie, parent pauvre de l’offre thérapeutique médicale, mais point fort de la tradithérapie où le discours va plus souvent dans le sens de l’attente du patient, plus précisément dans ce qu’elle veut bien entendre. A cette femme, ils diront qu’elle est bel et bien enceinte, mais la grossesse s’est bien cachée, là où le médecin ne pourra la voir. Surement non car eux chercheront toujours la grossesse dans l’abdomen, le ventre … pas dans la tête. En termes clairs, elle porte une « « EUMB BOU LAAKKU » ou GROSSESSE « CACHEE ». L’espoir renait. Dans peu de cas une vraie grossesse peut survenir secondairement, pouvant faire croire que la grossesse « cachée » s’est secondairement dévoilée. Mais dans beaucoup de cas, c’est la grosse désillusion et la déprime du fait d’une grossesse (illusoire) qui se cache depuis plusieurs mois voire une année ou deux.
QUELLES SOLUTIONS ?
La solution est assez simple. Elle consiste à aider la femme à accepter la vérité à savoir qu’elle peut bel et bien tomber enceinte (en dehors de cas précis) mais qu’elle NE L’EST PAS ENCORE. Question de temps et de patience. Pour ce faire une discussion franche avec le conjoint s’il est responsable assumé ou avec la belle mère tentera de réduire le capital stress qui, à lui seul, peut amoindrir les chances de maternité. Pour les futures belles mères, laisser les jeunes couples vivre leur vie de couple, si cela relève de l’ordre du possible, reste aussi une bonne solution.
On accouche certes dans la douleur mais on conçoit mieux dans la paix intérieure et avec la patience surtout face à un phénomène qui, après tout, relève … du calendrier divin.
