Le procureur général de Conakry, nommé par la junte au pouvoir en Guinée depuis 2021, a annoncé mercredi des poursuites contre l’ex-président Alpha Condé et une trentaine d’anciens hauts responsables sous sa présidence, notamment pour assassinats, actes de torture et enlèvements.
Parmi les personnalités visées par les poursuites et figurant sur une liste communiquée à des journalistes par le procureur Alphonse Charles Wright se trouvent, outre M. Condé renversé par les militaires en septembre 2021, un ancien président de la Cour constitutionnelle, d’anciens présidents de l’Assemblée, un ancien Premier ministre et une foule d’anciens ministres, députés et responsables des services de sécurité.
Selon ce document, le magistrat a donné « instructions aux fins de poursuite judiciaire par voie de dénonciation » contre M. Condé et 26 autres personnalités pour « meurtre, assassinat et complicité », disparitions forcées, détentions, enlèvements, acte de torture, coups et blessures volontaires, viols et agressions sexuelles ou encore actes de pillage.
Le magistrat a précisé dans un message à l’AFP que ces poursuites étaient lancées à la suite d’une plainte du Front national de défense de la Constitution (FNDC), un collectif qui a mené pendant des mois à partir d’octobre 2019 la contestation contre un troisième mandat d’Alpha Condé.
La répression de ces protestations, souvent brutale dans ce pays coutumier des violences politiques, a fait des dizaines de morts, quasiment tous civils.
