La justice ivoirienne a confirmé la radiation des listes électorales de l’ancien président ivoirien Laurent Gbagbo par la Commission électorale indépendante (CEI), a appris l’AFP mardi auprès de son avocat. «Le président du tribunal a entériné la décision de radiation du président Laurent Gbagbo de la liste électorale. C’est un non définitif, il n’y a plus de recours au plan national», a affirmé à l’AFP l’avocat de Laurent Gbagbo, Me Claude Mentenon.
L’ancien président mais aussi l’ancien chef rebelle et ex-Premier ministre Guillaume Soro, l’ex-chef des Jeunes patriotes, Charles Blé Goudé, et l’opposant Akossi Bendjo, ancien maire du quartier du Plateau à Abidjan, contestaient leur absence des listes électorales affichées dans les bureaux de vote début août. Des proches de Soro, qui se dit candidat à la présidentielle du 31 octobre bien qu’il vive en exil en France, ont contesté la décision devant le tribunal de Korhogo mais attendent toujours une réponse, a-t-on appris auprès de son entourage
«Toute personne condamnée pour un délit ou un crime à une privation de ses droits civiques était rayée des listes lors de la révision», avait expliqué Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibiert, le président de la Commission électorale indépendante (CEI) lors de la présentation de la révision de la liste électorale début août. Les quatre hommes, qui vivent à l’étranger, ont tous été condamnés par la justice ivoirienne. Acquitté en première instance par la Cour pénale internationale, Laurent Gbagbo vit à Bruxelles dans l’attente d’un éventuel appel mais il a été condamné par la justice ivoirienne à 20 ans de prison pour le «braquage» de la Banque centrale des Etats d’Afrique de l’Ouest pendant la crise post-électorale de 2010-2011.
L’ex-première dame de Côte d’Ivoire, Simone Gbagbo, a demandé le 11 août au président ivoirien Alassane Ouattara «d’amnistier» son époux Laurent. «Les arguments utilisés pour justifier le retrait du nom de Laurent Gbagbo de la liste électorale sont des arguments juridiques très discutables. D’ailleurs, le procès qui a conduit à cette condamnation est lui-même politique et injustifiable», avait indiqué Simone Gbagbo. Guillaume Soro, qui s’est déclaré candidat à la présidentielle, a lui été condamné par la justice ivoirienne à 20 ans de prison pour «recel de détournement de deniers publics» et fait l’objet d’un procédure pour «tentative d’insurrection». Le climat s’est tendu en Côte d’Ivoire, dix ans après la crise post-électorale qui a fait plus de 3000 morts. Des violences qui ont suivi l’annonce de la candidature du président Ouattara à un troisième mandat ont fait au moins 8 morts en août.
